The existence of this e-book – Colour Theory: An Intuitive Guide is as a glorious by-product. I wanted to cover this topic as the 4th episode of Digital Painting using GIMP video series, but I was stuck with the question – what the primary colours are and the convoluted opinions of people around it.

5500+ words and many diagrams later, the answer is clear and put in a way which goes deeper into the topic and yet simple enough to make sense for an absolute beginner.

This e-book is a technical deep dive (without claiming to be the ultimate guidebook) into the nature of light and its relationship with colours which forms the Colour Theory - a guideline used by artists, designers, and other professionals who mostly work with visual communications.

The point of writing this ebook was to show the subtleties in the nature of light for fundamental understanding of visual interplay.

Technically approached, simplified, diagrams made from scratch, and some unanswered questions too because I would always prioritise one’s own research to truly learn something.
